10 Items You Should Bring to Your Coworking Space
Coworking spaces are known for having it all! They have endless features and amenities, so you barely have to think about bringing anything into your office. But there are a few things your space may not provide or items you’d like to personalize to your own taste.
1. First things first, bring your computer, charger, and any personal electronics. Enough said here.
2. Headphones. Whether you work in an office with a few other colleagues or are using a hot desk for the day, you want to be able to use your devices and complete your work without bothering others (and without others bothering you). If you need complete privacy for a call or project, consider reserving a conference room or switching to a phone booth for your meeting.
3. Water bottle. Most coworking spaces offer complimentary beverages, but it’s always good to have a water bottle by your desk. Studies have shown that dehydration can disrupt cognitive function. So to do your best work, keep your water nearby.
4. A light layer like a sweater or a jacket. You won’t be able to control the temperature in your office or in the common areas. So if you tend to run cold, keep a sweater on the back of your seat, just in case.
5. Lunch and snacks. Some coworking spaces offer complimentary snacks in the pantry or will serve meals or snacks for special occasions. However, people get hungry at different times and you never know when you might need a pick me up. You can store your lunch in the fridge or heat it up in the kitchen. You can even walk to restaurants near by and enjoy a meal with your coworkers!
6. Business cards. One of the biggest positives about a coworking space is the opportunity to network. There are so many different business professionals in the offices around you and ample opportunities to gain new clients or meet people to collaborate with. Keep your business cards on hand and give them out! You never know who you might meet.
7. Office supplies. While a coworking space like CommonGrounds Workplace might offer printing stations and provides your office furniture, it is still up to you to stock your office. Make sure you bring pens, paper, notebooks, planners, and anything else you might need to make your day productive.
8. Storage or office organizers. On that same note, be sure to take advantage of the space in your office and get organized! Designate areas for files and set up your office in a way that is efficient. Need some tips on this? Check out our blogs on organizing your office.
9. Plants, wall decor, or anything to personalize your space. Your office should have a personality. So make it your own! Brighten up your space with pictures or desk decor. Just double check with your Workplace Team if you have any questions about what you can and can’t have or hang in your space.
10. A positive attitude. It’s going to a great workday in your new office! Coworking spaces have so many benefits and are one of the best places to work. Embrace the excitement and bring a smile with you!
